O–How Did I Get Here?

It was 1999; I was in my sophomore year at community college. I'd nearly finished my prerequisite courses, but my degree was short of a title. So, what's a confused student to do? Change majors again, of course!

Picture me wildly flipping through the school's program booklet for a new major. I had a straightforward criterion: no speech classes. Who needs public speaking when you can quietly conquer the world, right?

An Associate in Computer Science degree, with a curriculum that included gems like "Introduction to Photoshop," "TV Production," "Animation," "Macromedia Freehand," "Cinema 4D," and "Computer Basics."

Let's set the record straight: I had minimal computer experience. But that did not discourage me. I was staring at a degree that didn't require me to utter a word in front of a classroom full of people. Sold!
